Jeffrey Geri, a barrister in Johannesburg, South Africa, immigrated to Israel in 1960. He worked in real estate, financial planning, travel and advertising. He wrote novels, poems, travel articles, short stories and non-fiction, including Culture Smart – Israel, an overview of his adoptive country, of which the Jewish Agency bought 10,000 copies. His travel pieces appeared in a Haaretz lifestyle publication. Together with wife Wendy and Shelley Goldman, Jeffrey cofounded Ang-Lit Press, to nurture and promote stories in English by native English speakers with Israel as their setting. Jeffrey died on January 8 2013 at the age of 79. The year before, he noted his ‘musical milestones’, which we publish here.
